What Healing Really Looks Like

It’s Not Always Pretty, But It’s Always Worth It

By Pearl Truesdale

People talk about healing like it’s peaceful, pretty, and soothing—Like it’s a quiet morning with worship music and journal pages full of wisdom. And yes, sometimes it is.

But most of the time?

Healing looks like crying in the car after holding it together all day. It looks like canceling plans because your heart just feels too heavy. It sounds like silence in prayer… wondering if God still hears you.

It’s messy. It’s raw. And it doesn’t always make sense to the people around you.

Healing Is Not a Straight Line

If you’ve ever found yourself asking,

“Why am I still dealing with this? Why does it still hurt after all this time? Why does healing feel so hard?”

You’re not alone. And you’re not doing it wrong.

Healing isn’t linear. It doesn’t happen all at once. You don’t graduate from it like school. You grow through it—day by day, layer by layer.

Healing Is Holy—Even When It’s Hard

The world might want you to “just move on. "But God wants you to come closer.

Healing is when the Father touches places in your heart that no one else sees. It’s when old wounds lose their power, the lies begin to fall away, and you finally realize that you were never too broken for Him to love.

It may not be pretty… but it is sacred.

Why I Created the Podcast

That’s why I created the Journeys of Women Ministries Healing Podcast.

Because I wanted to offer a space that feels real. Where we don’t just talk about healing—we walk through it together.

Each episode is full of gentle truth, guided moments, and reminders that you are not alone in your journey. You are not behind. You are not disqualified. You are becoming who you were always meant to be.

You’re Invited

If your soul is tired…If your heart feels forgotten…If you’re ready to heal, but not sure how to begin—

Come sit with me. Bring your journal, your tears, and your courage.
